Storm close season at Central Invite

PELLA, Iowa – Jennifer Gaffney led the Simpson women's golf team to a fifth-place finish at the Central Spring Invitational over the weekend, putting a close to the team's 2011-12 season.

Simpson shot 764 throughout the 36-hole tournament (388, 376), which took place at Bos Landen Golf Course. The Storm finished two strokes behind Coe.

Central (677) ran away with the team title, topping second-place Luther by 37 strokes.

Gaffney fired an 85 in both rounds, finishing at 170 to place fourth of 38 individuals

Stacy Bergeson improved 12 strokes from Friday to Saturday, following up her first round 106 with a 94 (200) to tie for 25th. Molly Hill (101, 100) and Jennifer Stumpf (104, 97) each finished with 201 tying for 27th.
