Noel Treibel named co-head women's golf coach
INDIANOLA, Iowa – Simpson College announced today the hiring of Noel Treibel as co-head coach of the women's golf team, joining long-time head coach Bob Darrah.
A 2008 Simpson graduate and former All-Iowa Conference golfer under Darrah, Treibel returns to the program she helped to an Iowa Conference championship in 2006.
"We are very pleased to have Noel Treibel back at Simpson," Athletics Director John Sirianni said. "Noel was a fantastic student-athlete in her four years here and she experienced a great deal of success. We are confident that she and coach Darrah can continue to build on the already proud tradition of women's golf here at Simpson."
Treibel was a four-year letterwinner for the Storm from 2004-07. In 2006, Treibel placed 10th at the Iowa Conference Tournament, one of four Storm golfers to earn all-conference honors en route to the conference title. The championship marked the 10th in program history and is the last time Simpson took the crown.
"I am very excited to be back at Simpson and involved in Storm athletics again," Treibel said. "I am happy to have this opportunity to give back to Simpson everything it gave me in my time there."
Treibel currently serves as the manager of member services and women's golf at the Iowa Golf Association in Urbandale, Iowa. She received her bachelor's degree in corporate communication from Simpson in 2008. AS a student, she was an active member of the Public Relations Student Society of America and wrote for the student newspaper, The Simpsonian.
