Men's tennis comes up short at Central

PELLA, Iowa - The Simpson men's tennis team fared well at the No. 1 position but couldn't come up with any other wins in a 9-2 loss at Central on Saturday.

Zach Kusick won at No. 1 singles and joined Peter Rietgraf for a win at No. 1 doubles for the Storm (9-8, 0-2 Iowa Conference), who have hit a skid after a 9-5 start. 

Kusick beat Garret Taylor 6-2, 6-4 for the 34th singles win of his career. He and Rietgraf cruised to an 8-1 win over Taylor and Jimmy Cunningham, helping Rietgraf move into second all-time at Simpson with 38 career doubles wins. Kusick has 35.
