Storm 8th after first weekend of IIAC Championship

PELLA, Iowa – Andy Hutchins shot a team-best 83 at Bos Landen Golf Course on Saturday and the Simpson men's golf team is in eighth-place after the first weekend of the Iowa Conference Championship.

Simpson followed Friday's first round 366 with a 347 on Saturday for a team total 713, 47 strokes ahead of Cornell. Central (633) leads the team race, followed by Coe (652) and Luther (654).

Hutchins shot a 90 on Friday and an 83 on Saturday, giving him 173 to tie for 25^th.

Zach Hale cut 11 strokes from round one to round two (95, 84), putting him in a tie for 36^th (179). Joe Hupp also sits at 179 after two rounds, shooting an 89 Friday and a 90 Saturday.

Conner Juilfs (92, 90) is tied for 40^th (182) and Matt Haley (98, 94) is 42^nd (192).

The tournament concludes next weekend, May 4-5 at Finkbine Golf Course in Iowa City.
