• Chillicothe, Illinois
What college(s) did you attend?
• Bachelors — St. Ambrose University in Iowa
• Masters — University of Phoenix
Favorite professional sports team(s)?
• Dallas Cowboys and the Chicago Cubs
Favorite athlete?
• Walter Payton and Troy Aikman
Items you can't live without?
• A fishing pole, my hunting dog, Blue, and a shotgun
Favorite vacation spot?
• Anywhere that offers me an outdoor experience to hunt and fish
Favorite thing about Simpson?
• The size. Simpson is big enough that I do not know all of the students on campus so I get to meet new people daily, but it is small enough that I can still maintain and develop relationships with the student-athletes on the competitive team and on the club team.
Family?
• My wife, Sarah, our son, Dagan, and our daughter, Lake.
What would you be doing if you were not coaching?
• Working in conservation and hunter recruitment
Best athletic moment?
• Coaching my son to an undefeated football season and watching my daughter win a soccer tournament in a shootout, and of course game seven of the 2016 World Series, CUBS WIN.
Who would play you in a movie?
• People say I look like "Ironman" so I guess Robert Downey Jr.
One thing people don't know about you?
• I can ride a unicycle and walk on stilts.
Hobbies outside of coaching?
• Hunting and fishing
Role model(s) and why?
• Tom Landry and Bo Schembechler since I heard both of them speak when I was young. Their ability to inspire and motivate through respect and commitment really changed my outlook on life.
