Leggett earns top 10 finish as Storm take fourth at the Brissman-Lundeen Invite
ROCK ISLAND, Ill. - The top three pack of Cole Leggett, James Johnson, and Miles Combs earned top-15 finishes to headline the Storm's fourth place finish at the Brissman-Lundeen Invitational on Saturday.
Leggett dropped over a minute on his 8K time, and jumped up to a 10th place finish, as five Storm in the top seven set new season-best times in the 8K. Simpson as a squad placed fourth out of 11 teams, including a key victory over regionally ranked Millikin, who finished fifth.
"Our men ran tough today," said head coach Heath Moenck. "It was great to see our top three pack up and run well together. David Lochner ran the best race of his career, which was exciting to see. Our men are learning how to run in their new roles without all of our men we lost a year ago to graduation."
