Men’s tennis drops season-opener at Iowa Central

FORT DODGE, Iowa — The Simpson men's tennis team picked up a pair of wins in a 7-2 loss to Iowa Central CC in the season-opener Friday afternoon.

Brett Dewerff earned a comeback win at No. 6 singles, beating Coleton Hout 2-6, 6-4, 10-8. Simpson's other win came at No. 1 doubles, where the team of Sam Dykstra and Zach Nelson edged Manuel Roman and Jacob Martins 9-8 (7-5).

Friday marked the lone dual match of the fall for the Storm (0-1), who host the Iowa Conference Individual Tournament in Ankeny on Sept. 22-23.
