Men’s basketball collects NABC academic accolades

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The Simpson College men's basketball team achieved the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) Team Academic Excellence Award for an eighth consecutive year.

In addition to the team's achievement, four individuals were named to the NABC Honors Court for their academic performances. Andrew Gibb and Easton Darling earned the distinction for the second year in a row, while Haydon Mead and Jack Hutchinson picked up their first honor.

The NABC Team Academic Excellence Awards recognize men's basketball programs that completed the academic year with a team GPA of 3.0 or higher. The NABC Honors Court, meanwhile, includes junior, senior and graduate student men's basketball players who finished the year with a cumulative GPA of 3.2 or higher.

Over 2,100 players earned spots on the NABC Honors Court and over 360 programs received NABC Team Academic Excellence Awards for the 2023-24 academic year. To view all the team and individual recipients, click HERE.
