Coming in at No. 6 on our countdown is the women's basketball team's dramatic, OT win over Luther at Cowles Fieldhouse on Jan. 21.
Simpson trailed 78-75 with 12.8 seconds left. After head coach Brian Niemuth's set play was disrupted, Brittany Hedrick fired up a running, desperation 3 from the right wing as time expired. The shot banked in, forcing an extra five minutes that led to an 88-81 win over the eventual IIAC Champions.
Despite Hedrick's heroics, Maddie Bosworth was the story of the game. The junior came off the bench to score a career-high 25 points on 10 of 13 shooting, slicing through the Norse defense time after time. She came up big in the extra frame, hitting the go-ahead layup with 1:11 left and knocking down a pair of free throws to ice it with 25 seconds left.
