Storm drop opening match in St. Louis

ST. LOUIS, Mo. -- In the first match of the road trip to St. Louis, Mo., the Simpson women's tennis team lost 9-0 to Principia on Saturday.

The Panthers (3-10) had the Storm's (6-9) number all afternoon. Simpson would not win more than three games in a set during the match.

Danielle Bates had a tough contest at No. 4 singles and lost 6-3, 6-1. Sarah Barry dropped 6-2, 6-1 sets at No. 5 singles. Kathryn Hays battled in the first set at No. 6 singles, but fell 6-3, before being blanked 6-0 to close it out.

Megan Grubb and Bates lost 8-3 at No. 2 doubles and Emily King and Kelly Kuebler dropped an 8-2 set at No. 1 doubles.
