Storm sweep Buena Vista to open conference play

STORM LAKE, Iowa -- The Simpson women's tennis team won its third match in a row with a 9-0 shutout at Buena Vista to open American Rivers Conference play on Monday.

The Storm (3-1, 1-0) lost just one set on the day.

Kayla Reusche, Emily King, Sierra Griffith, Megan Grubb, Sarah Barry and Danielle Bates all scored singles wins for Simpson. Reusche and Griffith teamed up for an 8-4 win at No. 1 doubles, King and Kelly Kuebler scored an 8-0 win at No. 2 doubles and the team of Grubb and Lorin Miller combined for an 8-1 win at the No. 3 spot.

Simpson hits the road for a pair of conference games on Saturday. The Storm are at Wartburg for a 9 a.m. start then at Luther to close the day. Start time for the Luther match is set for 3 p.m.
