WAVERLY, Iowa -- Hannah Gordon carded a team-low 84 in Sunday's final round at the Wartburg Invitational as the Simpson women's golf team finished 13th in the team standings.
The Storm shaved seven strokes from Saturday's first round, closing with a 341 for a two-round total of 689. Simpson finished just one stroke behind Wis.-River Falls and 36 in front of American Rivers Conference foe, Nebraska Wesleyan.
Gordon tied for 39th in the field of 96 golfers at Prairie Links Golf Course. She added three strokes to her Saturday score but still led the team with a 165 for the weekend.
Kelsa Berkland improved one stroke from Saturday, shooting an 85 to finish in 54th place at 171. Lydia Martin shaved three strokes from the opening round, firing an 86 to place 59th with a 175. Madison Hance also shot an 86, six strokes better than her first round score. Haley Booton cut nine strokes from day one to round out Simpson's varsity finishers.
The Storm go to the Saint Mary's Invitational in Winona, Minn. on Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 15-16.
