The Simpson athletic department has signed a five-year agreement with BSN SPORTS to be the official supplier of athletic apparel and equipment for all 19 varsity sports. Under the partnership, Nike will become the exclusive supplier of the Storm’s uniforms, apparel and accessories.
Simpson College President Jay Simmons announced Wednesday that Bob Nutgrass, a long-time staff member and current assistant athletic director, will become the college’s next Athletic Director. He replaces Brian Niemuth, who has held the role for the past five years in addition to serving as the head women’s basketball coach.
Simpson’s Dylan Kalinay and Jordan Coughenour will represent the Storm at the 2018 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track and Field Championships this week in La Crosse, Wis. Kalinay qualified in the both the 100-meter dash and the 110-meter hurdles and Coughenour qualified in the 400-meter hurdles.
Dylan Kalinay ran the second-fastest 100-meter dash time in school history to qualify for nationals and Audrey LoVan broke her own school record in the pole vault for the fourth time this season to highlight Simpson’s last-chance meet performances on Wednesday and Thursday.

Josh Dietrich remained undefeated in the javelin throw and the Simpson men’s track and field team had seven, top-10 individual finishes at the 13th Kip Janvrin Open on Friday, April 27 at Buxton Stadium.
