Simpson finishes third at Dutch Athletics Classic

PELLA, Iowa -- The Simpson men's track and field team placed third at the Dutch Athletics Classic hosted at Central on Saturday and defeated William Penn.

Austin Greenwalt claimed first in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 8.91 seconds. Elliott Meyer finished in second in the event as well. Greenwalt also tallied a third-place nod in the triple jump and was part of the third-place 4x400-meter relay.

Jordan Coughenour crossed the finish in 52.50 in the 400-meters, which landed him in second. The Maxwell, Iowa native was also a member of the 4x400. Tyler Combs ended in third in the mile race, while teammate, Trey Thompson, finished in sixth.

The Storm travel to the Nebraska Wesleyan Invitational on Friday. The invite begins at 11:30 a.m. at the Devaney Center.
