CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa -- Simpson's Dylan Kalinay earned Iowa Conference Track performer of the Week honors for the period ending Sunday, April 1, the league office announced Monday.
The senior hurdler and sprinter won three events in the Storm's outdoor season-opener, the Loras Midweek on March 28. He posted Division III's ninth-fastest time in the 110-meter hurdles and helped the 4x100-meter relay to the No. 10 time in the country.
A product of Toldeo, Iowa, Kalinay won the 110 hurdles in 14.70 and ran the first leg on the Storm's winning 4x100-meter relay team, which finished in 42.14 seconds, the sixth-fastest time in school history. He also won the 100-meter dash, finishing in 10.90 seconds, currently the No. 22 time in Division III.
The conference weekly honor is the 12th of Kalinay's illustrious career and marks the fifth on the outdoor side. Kalinay is coming off a third-place national finish in the indoor 60-meter hurdles.
