HOW HE GOT HERE
Kalinay is making his second-straight trip to indoor nationals thanks to his huge day at the Wartburg Select on Feb. 3. There, he broke his own school record in the 60-meter hurdles, breaking the tape in 8.11 seconds, the No. 6 time in the country. He ran a personal-best 6.90 seconds in the 60-meter dash, the second-fastest time in school history and the No. 12 time in the country.

The 2018 Most Valuable Track Performer at the IIAC Indoor Championships, Kalinay just missed qualifying for finals in the 60-meter hurdles at the national meet in 2017. He placed ninth in the prelims but needed a top-eight finish to earn a lane in the final.
