CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa — Noah Nelson earned Iowa Conference Men's Swimming and Diving Performer of the Week honors for the period ending Sunday, Nov. 5, his second honor of the year, as announced by the league office.
The freshman phenom led the Storm with two wins and a runner-up performance in the team's 112-83 dual loss to Coe on Friday, Nov. 3. He set school records in the 200 and 500 freestyle to increase his season total to five in just two meets.
The Tulsa, Okla. native won the 500 freestyle in 4:53.47, took second in the 200 freestyle in 1:47.88 and helped the 400 medley relay to a first-place finish. He broke the old record in the 500 free by 11.53 seconds set in 2011-12, Simpson's oldest record on the books.
