ONALASKA, Wis. -- The Simpson men's golf team scored a team total of 699 to finish fifth at the Viterbo V-Hawk Invitational on Monday after playing 36 holes in the one-day event.
Freshman Hogan Rockhold shot an individual scorecard of 158 with both rounds combined. Rockhold led the way for the Storm ending tied for 15th in the rankings. A couple strokes behind him was teammate Nathan Eaton (160), who finished in a tie for 17th.
Lucas Hemphill and Derek Maxfield each cut shots off of their first round scores in the second round of play. Hemphill clipped eight shots from his first round (95) of the day with an 87 and Maxfield took 19 strokes from his first score, improving from a 109 to 90. Knick Badker also competed for the Storm at the invitational.
The men's golf team will be back in action next Monday in Burlington, Iowa at the Spirit Hollow Golf Course.
