FAIRVIEW HEIGHTS, Ill. -- Nathan Eaton posted the Storm's lowest round of the tournament to lead the Simpson men's golf team to an eighth-place finish at the 54-hole Lindenwood-Belleville Invitational, held Monday and Tuesday at Stonewolf Golf Club.
The tournament marks the end of the fall season for the Storm.
Simpson shot 1045 over the two-day tournament, good for eighth place in the 11-team field. Missouri Valley won the tournament by 14 strokes over Park University.
Individuals played 36 holes in Monday's opening round before closing the tournament with 18 on Tuesday.
Eaton enjoyed his best round on the second 18 Monday, firing a 79. He shot 87 on the first 18 then closed with an 82 on Tuesday to tie for 27th in the field of 58 golfers.
Blake Bender continued his strong finish to the fall season with rounds of 91-87-85, good for a tie for 42nd. Reid Cobb tied for 44th with rounds of 87-89-88. Lucas Hemphill saw the biggest improvement from round one to round two, tying for 51st with rounds of 98-89-91. Konner Johnson (90-93-99) placed 54th to round out the Storm's lineup.
