PEOSTA, Iowa -- Nathan Eaton posted a top-10 finish and the Simpson men's golf team tied for fourth place at the 36-hole Loras Fall Invitational, which concluded Monday afternoon.
Simpson shot 320-336-656 to tie Clarke in the team standings at the par-71, 6,542-yard layout at Thunder Hills Country Club. Knox took the team title with rounds of 308 and 302 to edge Loras by eight strokes.
Eaton posted his second top-10 finish of the season, tying for 10th in the field of 47 golfers after carding a 76 in Sunday's opening round and finishing with a 79 on Monday. He finished just four strokes off the pace set by Josh Schumacher of Knox. The sophomore has led the Storm at all three meets this season.
Blake Bender turned in a top-20 finish, carding an 86 Monday to finish the tournament at 162. He found himself tied with Eaton after firing a 76 in the opening round.
Simpson goes to the Wartburg Fall Invitational on Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 29-30 in Waverly.
