Men’s basketball receives three all-conference selections

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa -- After an impressive junior season, Simpson men's basketball player Conor Riordan was tabbed an American Rivers All-Conference First Team selection, along with seven other players from around the league.

Along with Riordan, juniors Adam Reiter and Kyle Wagner earned second teams honors for their performance on the court this season for the Storm.

Simpson went 16-10 overall and 9-7 in conference play. The Storm hosted the opening round of the conference tournament and won 90-82 over Coe. In the semifinals, Simpson lost 85-80 to the eventual tournament champions, Nebraska Wesleyan.

Conor Riordan | First Team, Guard

  • Junior from Ankeny, Iowa
  • Finished with averages of 18.2 points, 3.1 assists and 34.7 minutes per game
  • Led the conference in minutes played per game and was third in scoring and assist to turnover ratio
  • Scored in double figures in 18 of the 22 games he played in this season
  • Shot 49 percent from the floor and 39 percent from three
  • Selected to D3hoops.com Team of the Week (Nov. 8-18) by averaging 22.3 points, 5.3 rebounds, 3 assists and 2.3 steals in four games
  • Named to the Google Cloud Academic All-District 8 First Team
  • Was a first team all-conference pick in 2018

Adam Reiter | Second Team, Center

  • Junior from Ankeny, Iowa
  • Ended the year with averages of 13.6 points and 7.5 rebounds, both were career highs
  • Paced the conference in rebounds per game and total rebounds (195), and was second in double doubles (6), thirdi n free throws attempted (132) and fourth in free throws made (105)
  • Had a career high of 26 points against Central on Feb. 13
  • Named A-R-C co-Player of the Week on Dec. 9

Kyle Wagner | Second Team, Forward

  • Junior from Manning, Iowa
  • Held an average of 14.3, 4.3 rebounds and 2.3 assists per contest
  • Led the conference with a 47.5 3-point percentage and was eighth nationally
  • Finished third in the league with 75 made 3-pointers and 2.88 made triples per contest
  • Scored in double figures on 19 occasions
