INDIANOLA, Iowa -- Head coach Matt Jeter has released the Simpson football 2020 schedule, which showcases three NCAA Division III Tournament participants from 2019.

The Storm start the slate with a road trip to Texas to take on Mary Hardin-Baylor on Sept. 5. The Crusaders won the NCAA Division III National Championship in 2018 and lost in the Quarterfinals of last year's playoffs to fall short of a repeat. UMHB has won two titles over the last four seasons to become a powerhouse in the NCAA Division III ranks.

Simpson then heads north to compete at Wisconsin-Stevens Point on Sept. 12 to round out nonconference competition. The Pointers ended 3-7 a year ago in the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference.

Buxton Stadium will host its first game of the season on Sept. 19 when Loras visits for a 1 p.m. affair. Dubuque, Nebraska Wesleyan and Coe will all make their way into Indianola to take on the Storm.

Aside from the two tough opening road contests to begin the campaign, Simpson will travel to Wartburg and Central after both teams earned opening round wins in the playoffs last year after the Knights and Dutch tied for a league crown. Luther and Buena Vista will host Simpson to round out the road portion of the schedule.

After starting the year 4-1, Simpson hit a torrid stretch of games against four of the top five teams in the American Rivers Conference to finish the 2019 season 5-5 and 4-4 in the league.

The Storm tallied 13 American Rivers All-Conference selections in the fall as six are set to comeback this upcoming season. Mason Spree is the lone first team selection to return after serving on the offensive line. Cam Callion and Joe Meyer landed on the second team after stellar sophomore and junior seasons, respectively.

All game times are set for 1 p.m., except the 6 p.m. start times against the Crusaders in the season opener and Spartans at home. Home games will be video streamed on
