INDIANOLA, Iowa -- Head coach Matt Jeter and the Simpson football team have released their 2019 schedule. The Storm will compete in 10 games, with five at home and five on the road, two non-conference showdowns and eight American Rivers Conference contests.

Simpson travels to Minnesota to open the season on Sept. 7 against Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference foe, Bethel. The Storm have their first home game the following weekend when Chicago visits on Sept. 14. A-R-C play opens up on Sept. 21 when Simpson travels to Dubuque.

After going 7-3 overall and 6-2 in conference play last year, both are two-game improvements from a season before. The Storm's season was highlighted with a 37-36 overtime win at conference champion, Wartburg. Simpson won on a last-second two-point conversion that mimicked the "Philly Special."

Jeter secured the 2018 A-R-C Coach of the Year award in only his third season at the helm for the Storm. As a unit, the team will return four all-conference members, led by Michael Connor, who was tabbed as the Defensive Player of the Year at linebacker. Along with Connor, defensive back Brendan Holmes, defensive end Trey Chumbley, linebacker Joe Weppler and quarterback Tanner Krueger look to improve on their success from a year ago as all-conference selections.

All game times are set for 1 p.m., except the 6 p.m. start time at Dubuque. Home games will be video streamed on SimpsonAthletics.com.
