Beem earns IIAC Player of the Week honors

INDIANOLA, Iowa - Jordan Beem is the Iowa Conference Offensive Player of the Week after his career-best performance in Simpson's win over Buena Vista last Saturday, Oct. 3.

Beem racked up 254 all-purpose yards to spark the Storm to a 43-13 win in the league opener. The junior from Altoona, Iowa scored three total touchdowns, hauling in a 42-yard screen pass and scoring on runs of 5 and 40 yards. He ran for a career-high 184 yards and caught three passes for 54 yards.

Beem got stronger as the game wore on, breaking runs of 35, 38 and 40 yards in the second half. The 40-yarder was his third touchdown of the day, putting an exclamation point on the win in the final minutes. His 184 yards rushing is the most by a Simpson player since 2008.

The weekly accolade is the first of Beem's career.
